Austin Grill Off & Fest

August 22, 2026 • Columbus Park 12pm - until dusk

The Austin Grill Off Fest is one of the West Side’s most anticipated summer gatherings, bringing together great food, local businesses, live entertainment, and community pride.

A Celebration of Community

Columbus Park is one of the West Side’s greatest public spaces, and this event is about showing how powerful it can be when the community comes together in a positive way.

Our Partnership

In 2025, the Austin Collaborative for Business Development joined as a strategic co-producer to expand the festival’s scale, increase  deepen sponsors relationships, and elevate the event as a citywide culinary and tourism experience.

The History

For 12 years, Urban Smoke Cafe has hosted a celebrated barbecue festival featuring local grillers, small businesses, and civic leaders. In 2025, the event welcomed over 500 attendees, 9 grillers, 12 vendors, and special guests including Mayor Brandon Johnson and Alderman Chris Taliaferro.

Austin Grill off & Fest

  • Local grill masters will compete to see who truly rules the grill.
  • Expect bold flavors, friendly competition, and plenty of bragging rights.
  • Attendees will have the chance to taste food from participating grillers and vote for their favorites while judges crown the official Austin Grill Off Champion.

Local Vendors & Small Businesses

The Austin Grill Off & Fest is also a marketplace for local talent.
